Karrie Okey - Irregular Choice

Karrie Okey were originally launched by Irregular Choice way back in 2014 but it wasn't until the last month that I have finally managed to get my hands on a pair.

They were launched as part of the dinosaur collection with these coming in a chunky flat boot, a softer flat boot an amazing handbag all with the same fabric but very different designs. Since than Irregular Choice has also launched this in a pair of tights which look amazing.

The design on these is relatively simple but that doesn't stop them from being an outstanding pair of boots. One fabric is used for the whole of the upper with a creative mis-match of brightly coloured dinosaurs overlapping each other to create a really interesting looking fabric.

At the front of the shoe we have a very thick golden roped shoe laces which can be loosened and tightened to fit your shoe needs. I am never sure about the staying power of laces like this but so far I have not had to make many adjustments.

One of my favourite things about these is the shape of the actual boot. This tall, platform heel really has an empowering feel to them. The sole on these are quite different to most normal Irregular Choice too. It is not the usual hard patterned heel but instead a soft jagged rubber sole for extra grip.

This sole actually makes them one of the most comfortable heels I own. I would honestly buy anything that has this sole on them as the ease and comfort when walking in them is second to none. I am already on the hunt for the black pair of these as I just need more of this level of comfort in my life.

What took me so long to get these I hear you ask? I have always looked and admired these beautiful boots but constantly worry about actually being able to wear them as I have very large calves and legs and wouldn't normally chance something taller than an ankle boot. With these I was just at the right place at the right time and took a risk, knowing full well that if they didn't fit then they could be easily passed on to another lady who would appreciate them.

I ended up going for these in my usual size UK 6.5 (EU40) and they fit perfectly. The moment of truth came when I tried to do up the zip. I was so delighted when they fit, they don't bulge too much around my legs which is great but I do think they would look a little better if my legs were just fractionally smaller. That is good enough for me tho. I didn't think in a million years that these would end up being suitable.

Heel wise they have an 11.5cm heel but with a 4.5cm platform so even with the appearance of being high they are actually a very manageable height, and as I have mentioned are unbelievably comfortable so well worth giving these shoes a try even if you think you wouldn't normally be able to cope with them.

In conclusion, everyone should have a pair of these, in every colour possible. OK maybe a slight exaggeration but I will be heavily championing these shoes coming out in more weird and wonderful styles.

What did you think? This blog was written on a request over on our Facebook page so if you would like to see a specific shoe reviewed please let me know and I will try my best! Thank you for reading.
